In 1941, Sam Snead won the PGA Championship and then shipped off for active duty in the Navy during WWII.

In 1949, Snead won the PGA Championship again. 

In 2013, Australian golfer Andrew Dodt became the first golfer on the European Tour to hole a pair of aces in the same round. 

 

Bob Cousy’s Last Game as a Celtic – This DiSH for April 24

In 1963. Bob Cousy played his last game as a Boston Celtic but the fact that he was a Celtic to begin with is an interesting story. 

In 1945, Happy Chandler was named as Major League Baseball’s Commissioner.

In 1901, it was the first ever American League game. 

In 1994, David Robinson scored 71 to win the NBA scoring title over Shaquille O’Neal. 

And in 2004, Eli Manning was drafted by the San Diego Chargers.

And in 1981, the start of Fernando Mania started with his opening day complete game shutout.

In 1988, Barry Sanders rushed for 222 yards and scored 5 touchdowns as Oklahoma State routed Wyoming 62-14 in the Holiday Bowl.

In 1981, Wayne Gretzky scored 5 goals to become the fastest to 50 in a season. 

In 1990, Scott Skiles dished and NBA record 30 assists.

And in 2020, Becky Hammon became the first woman to take over as head coach in an NBA game.
