In 1923 and again on the same day in 1924, Gene Tunney, the boxing Marine fought Harry Greg, the Pittsburgh Wildcat. 

In 1941, Joe Louis defended his title for the 17th time. 

First Winter Olympics – This DiSH for Jan. 25

In 1924, the first Winter Olympiad premiered in France.

In 1960, Wilt Chamberlain set a rookie scoring record.

And in 1939, Joe Louis knocked out a friend, doing him a favor in the process.

In 1995, Dan Marino threw for 300 yards in a game for the 52nd time in his career,

And in 2000, moved into second place on the all-time NBA scoring list.
