In 1978, French golfer Phillipe Porquier made a 20 on a hole to set the mark for highest score ever recorded on a hole at a European Tour event. 

In 1976, the New York Nets beat the Denver Nuggets to win the last ABA Championship prior to the merger with the NBA. 

And in 1983, football coaching legend Bud Grant was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. 

A Two-Foot Nightmare – This DiSH for April 9

In 1989, Scott Hoch missed a two-foot putt on the first playoff hole that would have won The Masters. 

In 1978, Gary Player won his third Masters green jacket. 

Also in 1978, David Thompson and George Gervin battled it out for the NBA scoring title 900 miles apart. 

And in 1981, the start of Fernando Mania started with his opening day complete game shutout.

And in 2014, punter Ray Guy was elected to the Football Hall of Fame.
