First Professional Baseball Team…sort of – This DiSH for March 15

In 1869, the Cincinnati Red Stockings became the first professional baseball team, with a few caveats.

In 1892, the seeds of Liverpool FC were sown on this day with the ejection of John Houlding from Everton.

And in 1958, Maurice Stokes collapsed after a game, leaving him paralyzed and with brain damage. It was the result of what happened three days before.

‘This Day in Sports History’ is a one person operation. I research, write, voice, and produce each show. So if you like the podcast, subscribe, rate and review and tell your friends about it!
